R Martin bikes at www.rmartinbikes.com has a number of electric bicycles and mopeds at great prices. I personally ride the LX1 which is a great value with the 36v lithium battery pack.
Their lithium packs are recyclable. But the best part is that they last for years. You can ride to the store, school, library, or around thye neighborhood for pennies.
The bikes ride like regular bikes and have the added value of the electric motor that makes these an alternative to cars and buses for transportation.
My favorite bike is their R12. It is a step-through that is so easy to pedal that you don't even need to use the throttle.
